PHOTOGRAPH OF ONTOS AT 29 PALMS FROM JIM CHASE AND DOC O'BRIEN

Fellow Ontos Crewmen:
My wife and I made a trip to sunny California in March 2000.  I took her to all the military bases from San Diego to 29 Palms.  While there, we saw a USMC graduation at MCRD.  I discovered the Ontos while making inquiries in and around Pendleton.  I was very disappointed when we got to see it, because WHO HAS EVER SEEN A DESERT CAMI ONTOS?  It is in very poor condition, near a children's playground, and the kids climb all over the equipment.  Along with the Ontos, there is an LAV-25 light armored vehicle M-55 8" self propelled howitzer, M101A1 105mm towed howitzer, M48A3 battle tank and a LVTH-6 landing vehicle tracked howitzer - all are painted desert cami.  What a site.  If anyone is interested, let me know and I will post pictures of the other weapons.  I am attaching three photos of the Ontos.
