PART III SEQUENTIAL LISTING OF SIGNIFICANT EVENTES (U)
2 September Company C. C-33 and C-34 fired approximately 600 .30 caliber rounds from AT218552 into an estimated VC platoon located at AT218558. Area was searched at first light with negative results.
4 September Company A. At BT035628, A-21, A-22, A-23, and A-24 were called to support infantry after 7th Engineer's PC hit an enemy land mine. Infantry received approx- imately 100 rounds of small arms fire from BT035640. Ontos expended approximately 900 .30 caliber rounds. A search was made with negative results.
6 September Company B. A 10 man security patrol received approx- imately 5 rounds small arms fire from sniper located at BT123452. Approximately 30 rounds small arms fire and 3 M79 rounds were returned. A search was made and Anti-U.S. documents were found at BT128445. The documents were forwarded to 5th Marines CP.
7 September Company B. The 3rd platoon fire 1600 .50 caliber rounds for 1st Battalion/5th Marines as H&I fire into BT978355.
8 September Company A. At BT100518, A-35 hit an enemy land mine estimated at 60 pounds. The vehicle was completely destroyed and was towed to the 3rd platoon CP by tanks. The action resulted in 2 USMC WIA Med-Evacs. Company B. B-34 and B-35 moved to BT219358 to support infantry. B-34 moved to BT218359 and expended approx- imately 300 .30 caliber rounds at unknown number of enemy in treeline at BT216358. B-35 moved to BT219358 and expended approximately 100 .30 caliber rounds at 2 fleeing VC. The areas were searched with negative results.
9 September Company B. Third platoon fired 2000 .50 caliber rounds for 1st Battalion, 5th Marines as H&I fire into BT978355 and BT008318.
10 September Company A. At BT098584, A-32 and A-33 receivd heavy sniper fire. A-32 expended approximately 30 .30 caliber rounds and A-33 expended approximately 50 .30 caliber rounds. No search was made due to mission.
